Catalina was founded by Captain Benjamin Nemser, who has over 35 years of aviation experience in South Florida.
As a teen, Ben would do anything from cleaning dishes to washing airplanes to save up enough for one flight. At 18, he earned his pilot’s license. He later went to become a practicing attorney before establishing and growing a multi-million dollar electronics business in North Miami. Ben parlayed his passion for aviation by buying a company aircraft and flying it around the country to visit clients. Eventually, he saw an opportunity to turn his fervor for flight into a second career by purchasing a Learjet and starting Catalina. Today he is an active Captain, an owner of 2 of the company jets, and has logged well over 7,000 hours of flight time.

As an owner/operator, we are available 24/7 to answer questions regarding our aircraft maintenance practices, our pilot currency and training programs, and our onboard amenities.

Only 30 minutes from downtown Miami and 20 minutes from Miami International Aiport, our base of operation is the Miami-Opa Locka Executive airport (KOPF). Our airport offers 24/7 full service including limo and car rentals, gourmet catering, and multiple long runways with all-weather lighting and approach equipment. Opa-Locka is an excellent choice for international flights as it has US Customs open 365 days per year from morning until midnight. With easy access to I-95 and I-75 (adjacent to the airport), it is convenient to downtown Miami, Miami Beach, and all of the surrounding communities.
