Community Involvement

Catalina Aerospace is heavily invested and involved in our community. Besides many activities on the ground, we also lend our aircraft and pilots to causes that are dear to our hearts.

Abaco Shelter Bahamas

Hurricane Dorian struck the Abaco Islands as a Category 5 hurricane on September 1, 2019.

Despite the efforts of local volunteers to bring to safety close to 45 dogs housed at the shelter at the time, some had to remain. Thankfully, all of them survived the ordeal.

Our Cessna 340 with seating capacity of 5 passengers was flown from our operational hub at Opa Locka airport in Miami, carrying volunteers.

Dog Rescue in Puerto Rico

After a devastating storm that hit the island of Puerto Rico, tens of pet dogs were left to fend for themselves. We stepped in to help in any way we could. We scheduled an empty leg flying back to Miami to bring several dogs who are now leading happy lives with their new families.
